Treatment Options
Radiofrequency ablations (RFA) are minimally invasive, image-guided treatments that use radio waves to heat and destroy specific nerves that transmit pain signals to the brain. The obturator femoral RFA is a great option for chronic hip pain because it offers longer lasting relief and negates the need for corticosteroids. Patients typically feel relief for up to six months.
Your doctor will assess whether or not an RFA is the right treatment for you by performing two diagnostic nerve block injections. If the nerve blocks are effective, the provider will perform an RFA at your next procedure visit.
