Restoring Function with Total Hip Replacement
Total hip replacement removes the damaged femoral head and hip socket and replaces them with prosthetic components to relieve pain and restore joint function. Our orthopedic surgeons recommend this procedure for patients with advanced arthritis, avascular necrosis, or significant joint deterioration that has not responded to conservative treatment.

How to Prepare
Bring Your Imaging
If you have prior X-rays, MRI, or other imaging of your hip, bring them to your visit. These help your provider assess the joint and determine the most appropriate course of treatment.
Arrange a Ride Home
You will not be able to drive after surgery. Plan to have a friend or family member take you home and stay with you during the initial recovery period.
Review Your Medications
Inform your care team of all medications and supplements you take. Some blood thinners and anti-inflammatories may need to be paused prior to your appointment.
